The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – A historic for the domestic auto industry is the confirmation that the young Tico driver Mauricio Hernandez has signed a contract with the Italian driving team and Target.

The Costa Rican will become part of this team and its first major challenge will be during the last two dates of the European Championship Seat Leon.

The debut Hernandez could be given in the scenic setting of Monza, where the Formula 1 circuit runs.

For the young driver it’s a dream come true, especially since one of his goals was to transcend abroad with racing.

“It’s very positive news, as it is a goal for which I fought a lot during these seven years that I have been involved in this sport and also represents a valuable opportunity to represent Costa Rica,” said Hernandez.

His time with the Italian team will be for two months to start. First the race in Monza, Italy and then in November he returns to the slopes at the Circuit de Catalunya, Spain.

The Tico has confirmed his bond with the Italian team for the 2015 European Championship, however, he still needs to find sponsors to meet the investment amount, which is around $ 200,000 U.S. dollars.
