The Costa Rica News (TCRN) –  For Ticos, the intelligence quotient (IQ) is an average of 89 points according to the TARGETMAP site.

The publication is based on the studies in 113 countries at the beginning of the century by British psychologist Richard Lynn and Tatu Vanhenen, a Finnish political scientist, and a later work by the Dutch psychologist, Jelte Witcherts.

The average IQ is 100 points.

The results say Singapore, South Korea and Japan are countries whose inhabitants have a higher than average IQ.

But in Singapore, whose education system is considered one of the best in the world, the average reaches 108, two and three points higher than those obtained in South Korea and Japan.

About average were the Italians, who also placed with 102 points and the Icelanders, Mongolians and Swiss at 101.
