The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – A crew from the Costa Rican Electricity Institute (ICE) conducted the rescue of a sloth in front of dozens of onlookers in downtown Quepos, Aguirre, Puntarenas.
The unusual scene occurred Monday morning when several neighbors observed the animal climbing one of the primary cables and called authorities.
“I was going to take my daughter to school around 7:30 am when we saw ICE arrive with a truck with a platform with long rods I managed to pull the cables. After more than 40 minutes they rescued the sloth,” explained Alejandro Arguedas, a neighbor who witnessed the rescue and shot the video now circulating on social networks.
