The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – As most Ticos imagined would happen, Carlos “Cali” Muñoz scored a big win in his first heat of the Hurley Pro 2014.
The Costa Rican was not intimidated by having to face the World Tour champ Gabriel Medina and entered the water with a take-no-prisoners mentality.
A large wave in the final seconds is what pushed him to victory. Cali achieved a score of 13.90.
This is due to two major waves, but without a doubt the last one was the best. He achieved a 7.73 that allowed him to beat Medina.
“Everyone was screaming and that motivated me. When I heard the screams, I knew it was a great result immediately,” Muñoz said.
