    The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The Spanish government has congratulated the people of Costa Rica for the exemplary conduct of the presidential elections on Sunday and congratulate the candidate of the Citizen Action Party (PAC), Luis Guillermo Solis, for his victory.

    The Spanish government, in a statement released by the Foreign Ministry, said that the second round of presidential elections in Costa Rica has shown once again the strength of institutions and rooted democratic tradition of the Central American country.

    The development and results of the elections in Costa Rica “demonstrates once again the commitment of Costa Rican citizens to the democratic system prevailing in the country since 1958.”

    Spain confirms its willingness to further strengthen their excellent bilateral relations with Costa Rica and strengthen links between the European Union, Costa Rica and all of Central America. (EFE)
