The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – During the FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014, Costa Rica surprised the world with its talent in the field, and as a result people from all over the globe cheered for and fell in love with this Central American country.
The Costa Rican Tourism Board did not miss its opportunity to internationally promote the nation’s natural beauties with the purpose of attracting as many tourists from different places as possible. To achieve this, the Costa Rican Tourism Board together with PROCOMER (The Foreign Trade Corporation of Costa Rica, in English) prepared a promotional video which highlights the biodiversity that people could enjoy and the amazing volcanoes, mountains, and beaches that Costa Rica has. Also, it portrays the country’s businesses and exportations as one of the best options in the region.
According to PROCOMER, the ad reached ten million viewers during the World Cup, and it is expected that it has already attracted people to visit and invest in Costa Rica. This video aired during multiple soccer matches in the U.S., Canada, Spain, England, and Germany, which Wilhelm von Breymann, the tourism minister, pointed as the main business generators for the country.
In addition, Costa Rica has improved the quality of the products it exports; the authorities in charge of trade and business in the country have encouraged and helped small companies to grow in order to make a positive impact in the economy. Because of this, many small entrepreneurs in the tourism industry will benefit from the advertising campaign that Costa Rica had during the World Cup. They should be prepared with the best tours and attractions to offer to foreigners this busy season, who typically visit the country between November and February, which are the colder months of the year in the northern part of the American continent.
Costa Rica has been preferred throughout the years by people from different countries to spend their vacations, and two of the main reasons are the security and tranquility that tourists find during their stay. Furthermore, Costa Ricans have been said to be friendly and helpful people who welcome foreigners and make them feel at home.
The recent show that the Costa Rican soccer players offered in the FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 not only represents an economic and professional advantage for them, but also it means that the country will benefit in the tourism and exportation industries, and the country’s international image will be enhanced.
