    The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – A Costa Rican and a Spaniard were arrested on suspicion of carrying two kilos of marijuana in the city of Grecia, a province of Alajuela.

    The detainees were in a Hyundai when they were surprised by a roadblock at the entrance to the urbanization of Rincon Arias.

    “Instead of stopping when passing by said seal, the vehicle occupants continued and threw a black plastic bag out the car. A few meters after the officers managed to intercept the car, whose driver was a Spanish man named Callisales and by accompanied a Costa Rican named Thames,” said the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) in a statement.

    After coordinating with the Drug Control Police (PCD) it was determined that the subjects carried some 1,850 kilograms of compressed marijuana, they were arrested immediately to face prosecution.

    The vehicle and drugs were relinquished to the authorities.
