The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – Plus and super gasoline could drop to 30 colones per liter in the month of September, according to the Costa Rican Oil Refinery (Recope).
The institution announced it will ask the Regulatory Authority of Public Services for the discount to be applied during the extraordinary methodology that takes place every month for fuel prices is analyzed. ARESEP decides the amount, but the request is based on an analysis of Recope.
According to Recope, the reason that there could be a drop in the price of gasoline is due to the international market, which would affect the end consumer.
The final amount of the reduction will be announced next Friday when the international prices from Wednesday and Thursday are incorporated and the exchange rate of the colon against the dollar is updated.
In the case of diesel, the price will remain practically unchanged.
If the reductions is approved, the price per liter of super gasoline will be 780 colones and the plus will be 752 colones.
