    Illegal Alien in Costa Rica Suspected to Have Ebola

    The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – After performing medical tests at the Calderón Guardia hospital the Health Ministry has ruled out that the African man was infected with Ebola.

    Health Minister, Mary Anchía, assured that the patient did have symptoms of the disease, but he is not a danger to public health.

    The man was in the country illegally and is being held at a detention center for foreigners located in Hatillo. Special surveillance of the African is not maintained, since the tests performed at the medical center ruled out any danger.

    The authorities admitted that they cannot detect the virus while in incubation, but after the apparent permanence within the continent, and would have presented evidence of an abnormal condition.

    Bioterrorism protocols have been established by health authorities since 2011 which create control measures for the treatment of patients who are suspected to have Ebola.
