The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – Paul Watson, the Canadian environmental currently wanted by Costa Rica, confirmed his support for the presidential candidate of the Citizen Action Party (PAC), Luis Guillermo Solís, and hoped that in the future he will take action to stop illegal fishing.

Watson who, according to Interpol’s website, is wanted by Costa Rica for almost causing a shipwreck, criticized Laura Chinchilla on his Facebook page and blamed the death of conservationist Jairo Mora Sandoval on her, which occurred in May last year.

“Solis has promised to end corruption and protect the environment and the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is pleased to be able to work with him,” he wrote on his profile.

“President Solis promised to work with the other Central American countries to stop illegal fishing. Something Chinchilla flatly refused to do. According to Solis, hopefully the protection of Cocos Island will become a priority.”
