The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – Since last Friday, April 11th through Sunday at 4:00 pm, the Directorate General of Immigration recorded a total of 17,000 people who left the country through the border post of Peñas Blancas.
Although today the flow of people has been less than that of Friday and Saturday, the number of people moving through the place remains.
“Yesterday we had about 4,000 people leaving and a total of 1,500 people entering the country. The influx of people occurred between midnight and 8:00 am. This means that when the number of people is quite low and migration control is quite fluid,” said Jonathan Mora, Unit Operations Regional Directorate of Immigration.
On Thursday and Good Friday, they will only be open from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm
According to spokesman Allen Ulloa Migration, the Ministry of Finance ordered that between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am the people who needed to enter or leave the country could do so without paying the tax of $7 because the mobile unit that charges the tax not work during those hours.
