The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The prices of goods and services registered an overall of 0.29% in October compared to September, but the 292 goods and services that make up the consumer basket of the Consumer Price Index, saw a price increase of 52% from the previous month according to the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC).
The decrease in the price of electricity tariffs, papaya, onion and tomato are the most influenced this month in the cost of living.
Among those with the largest price increase were bus fares, eggs, beans and cilantro, the latter with an increase of 25.99%.
The cumulative variation from January to October is 4.99% and consumer groups that have been most affected by the change in the index over the 10 months have been the transport industry and food and beverage. (Crhoy)
