The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The Banco de Costa Rica (BCR) and the Foundation for Social Development (Fundes) is offering the owners of small and medium stores and mini supermarkets in Costa Rica the “My Business Program” which helps strengthen the national retail sector program.
Small businesses participating in the program for three months have already seen increased sales by 3%, but expect to reach between 5% and 10% increases, to reduce between 3-4% in costs, and achieve greater customer loyalty, by incorporating new practices and use of technology to business administration.
One business that has obtained impressive results during the program is the supermarket “El Pueblo”, located in San Ramon de Alajuela, west of the country.
Its owners Greddy Herrera Herrera and Ana Yancy have modernized their business to make it more attractive and have focused on providing personalized service to its customers.
CEO of BCR, Mario Rivera Turcios, said that this partnership with Fundes strengthens the commitment to SMEs to promote programs that become effective solutions to establish the capabilities of an important growth business sector, such as, the suppliers and owners of mini supermarkets.
