The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – White sand beaches, turquoise blue water and palm trees surrounding you…This pretty much describes what Isla Tortuga, in the middle of the gulf of Nicoya, looks like.

Only a two hour boat ride away from Jacó is where you will find this scenic spot. There are many different operators that offer full-day tours to the island and you really shouldn´t wait to grab a tour! Keep in mind that you´ll probably see dolphins, stingrays and other beautiful fish while racing across the Pacific waves of Costa Rica.

Isla Tortuga shines with a breathtaking beach and tropical vegetation. It doesn´t matter what you´re looking for; a relaxed and quiet place to sun bathe and just let time go by or an action packed day with many different possibilities to get your adrenalin going – the island has it all.

As the turtle island literally is in the middle of nowhere, it´s definitely the right place to recharge your batteries and give yourself a break away from everyday stress. Also you can make the acquaintance of multi-coloured peacocks, kindly greet parrots and wild pigs while feeling as snug as a bug in a rug during your tropical siesta.

If you´re more of an action fanatic, this might appeal more to you: getting thrown into the water by a speeding banana boat, driving a jetski at over 90km/h, playing volleyball in front of marvellous scenery or snorkeling in the middle of a load of colorful fish. So one thing is certain: You won´t get bored for sure!

To sum up, Isla Tortuga is a remote, quiet and idyllic place on the one hand, but still offering everything visitors could want for adventure on the other hand. And furthermore it´s a great location to take your family, as it’s great for the young and the old. Don’t miss it!
