The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – There has been much debate about the provocations and words that the Dutch goalkeeper, Tim Krul, had for the Ticos before the final shoot out.
On television, he was observed coming close to Costa Rican players and disturbing their concentration with strong words, creating a situation that was not well received.
The Krul admitted to using intimidation techniques with Costa Ricans before they shot, which for many was reprehensible. One of the strongest opinions on this was Diego Armando Maradona, who said on his show De Zurda that Krul “is a disrespectful that the referees allowed this. If the referee sees it, he has an obligation to intervene.”
Fair play is one of the things that the International Federation of Associated Football (FIFA) defends adamantly, which is why they could open an investigation and even punish the Dutch goalie.
“Fair Play is the most important thing in football, but we are waiting for the report to clarify the issue,” said spokeswoman Delia Fischer of their governing body.
