The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The delegation of Costa Ricans participating in the World Junior Surfing Competition in Ecuador continues with very good results and even exceeded their expectations, but the competition had to be suspended because a great white shark appeared at Playa Salinas, where the tournament is being held.
Evan McGonagle had the highest score of the day with 13.67, thanks to two excellent waves.
“My goal for this competition is definitely to do my best, I have nothing to lose trying,” McGonagle said.
With these wins, the surfers ensure a spot in the World Top 15 where they will face top talent from Portugal, France, Australia, United States and Hawaii.
