The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – “The Court acquitted me; this is a triumph for democracy. Thank you very much to all Costa Ricans for their solidarity and respect,” said the businessman Alberto Rodriguez Baldi, who was sued by former president Laura Chinchilla.

Last year, Rodriguez Baldi posted a comment on his Facebook wall about the president, making certain assertions which, according to Chinchilla, were false and affected her honor. At that, Chinchilla raised a criminal complaint against the employer for slander and defamation. Today, the Court entered judgment acquitting the man of the crimes he is blamed.
