The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – On Thursday, the International Federation of Associated Football (FIFA), announced the last rankings before the World Cup and the tricolor Costa Rica showed an important advance.

The team won six positions and is now 28th in the world and comes as the third best in the area, behind only the United States and Mexico.

The Americans are located in slot 13 after winning a spot, while Mexico lost a place and is located at position 20.

Regarding the World Ranking and noting this confirms that the D Group, which Costa Rica’s group, is deadly.  This is because three of the teams that make it up are placed in the Top 10 worldwide.

Uruguay is in the No. 7 position, while Italy and England took over in blocks 9 and 10 respectively.

Worldwide Spain continues as number one, followed by Germany and Brazil, who is hosting the World Cup.

The next FIFA ranking will be released on July 17 and 32 World Cup selections could change positions according to their performance at the 2014 Brazil World Cup, which starts in a few days.
