The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – Officers of the National Guard of Costa Rica participated in a meeting that brings together 17 nations to ensure the defense of the Panama in the event of a violent incident in the area. This multinational exercise takes place in the United States.
This activity is characterized by several internet simulations, air, land, and sea threats to control situations of extreme violence, natural disasters and pandemic outbreaks, in and around Panama.
The Panama Canal is considered one of the most strategic and economically important structures in the world. About six percent of world trade passes through the Canal every year, which translates to approximately 400 million tons of different products.
This exercise, which is called Panamax, started three years ago and has changed its methodology over time, this time including relevant training to meet threats by air, sea, land or internet.
