The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – An earthquake with a magnitude 6.0 degrees interrupted the sleep of the Costa Ricans at dawn on Tuesday.
According to the Earthquake Engineering Laboratory of the University of Costa Rica (LIS-UCR) the earthquake occurred at 12:35 am with a depth of 32.6 kilometers and 74.7 kilometers with the epicenter located near Punta Burica. The National Seismological Network reported the move had an intensity of 6.2 Mw.
The motion was perceived in the Central Valley as a long and intense rumbling. After the movement, no tsunami warning by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS for its acronym in English) was issued nor was any serious damage recorded.
