The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – If your license plate ends in 4 it needs changing, but you have the next three months and can do so at any branch of Banco de Costa Rica or from their page www.bancobcr.com.
If you choose to do so directly at the Public Registry, the requirements are that the vehicle is current and all tickets have been paid.
Persons performing the procedure digitally (www.bancobcr.com), must complete a form found in the informative part of the electronic branch and make payment online by any credit or debit card.
The deadline to change date July 2014. Pricing for vehicles is 20,000 colones and 13,000 colones for motorcycles.
The plate change process will be in accordance with the timetable set by the National Registry for this purpose.
