The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The next opponent Costa Rica will face in the World Cup, is a true contender. With a very effective defensive football game, Greece was crowned in the 2004 European Football Championship.
The main Greek strategy is power in defense and withering counterattacks with great success.
The Portuguese coach Fernando Santos, 59, is charged with commanding Greece in an attempt to defeat Costa Rica.
In an interview on FIFA’s website, the coach hinted about the strategy he will be using next Sunday against Costa Rica in Recife Pernambuco Arena.
“In football one attacks and one defends. We know how to defend well and are very good on the counterattack,” Santos said.
Costa Rica is studying their opponent and know they must stay focused for 90 minutes to avoid being surprised.
