The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The International Federation of Associated Football (FIFA), has announced the new rankings after the World Cup and Costa Rica had a major upgrade.
After qualifying to the quarterfinals, they are now located at position 16 in the world.
This brings them up a total of 12 places compared to the ladder that FIFA gave in June, days before the ball started rolling for Brazil 2014.
As expected by winning the World Cup at the Maracana Stadium, Germany took over the top spot and is followed by Argentina.
It is noteworthy that two of the rival team at the World such as Italy and England disappeared from the Top 10 after their dismal failures.
