The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – A center for scientific exchange with Costa Rica was inaugurated today at the University of Osnabruck, northern Germany, in Lower Saxony.

This center of knowledge and culture exchange between universities in Costa Rica will promoted the fields of education, biology, economics and psychology, among others.

“This initiative of educators and academics from Costa Rica and Germany, gives a new turn to the scientific cooperation between the two countries, and allows new areas of cooperation to open,” said Costa Rica’s ambassador in Germany, José Joaquín Chaverri.

The opening was attended by the rector of the University of Costa Rica (UCR), Henning Jensen Wolfgang Lücke and rector of the University of Osnabruck.

Jensen explained that Germany and Costa Rica have been developing for decades a large university cooperation through the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and many bilateral academic cooperation initiatives.

It is the first time that UCR has a research center outside the country. This shows confidence in the scientific seriousness of projects of higher education.

In addition, it will generate more innovation in the study programs and research of students.
