The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The Regulatory Authority for Public Services (Aresep) approved an increase in fuel prices up to 29 ¢ which will take effect this week, according to estimates by the institution.
The increase for the premium gasoline is 29 ¢, so the price will increase from ¢ 787 to ¢ 816; regular gasoline will increase by 27 ¢ and will be quoted at ¢ 788; while the price of diesel will go down 13 ¢.
The extraordinary adjustment related to changes in the dollar and international fuel prices. Also a lag of Recope that kept the last 6 months was recognized.
Since January 2014, the price of fuel has increased about ¢ 150 per liter.
