The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – With a minute of silence as part of a tribute to the patients, families and unsung heroes, many gathered to celebrate the National Children’s Hospital’s 50th anniversary.
According to its director, Dr. Rodolfo Hernandez, this is a very special date for Costa Ricans, because according to statistics, they have provided over 15 million treatments.
“About 15 million services over those 50 years with 300,000 children annually, the mortality rate we have achieved is 1.4, the lowest figure of the health center in the last year. With great satisfaction we get to this accomplished day,” said Dr. Hernandez.
One of the remaining tasks is to build the Tower of Hope, which seeks to serve a greater number of patients for chronic diseases.
According to the executive president of Costa Rican Social Security, Dr. Maria del Rocio Saenz, this is one of the projects that is well advanced and viable.
