The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – Costa Rican surfers Carlos “Cali” Munoz and Noe Mar McGonagle successfully completed the first day of competition at the O’Neill SP Prime, which takes place in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The Ticos had a brilliant debut in the waves of Playa Maresias and gained access to round 2 at the top of their respective Heats.
“Cali” made progress with a score of 13.20, while Noe Mar had 16.10, thanks to a big wave in which he received 9.00.
In the morning the two nationals will try to advance to round 3 of the event, against rivals from Australia and Hawaii.
For McGonagle will compete against Grangen Larsen, Charly Martin and Jack Freestone, while “Cali” will face Matt Wilkinson, Steven Pierson and Sebastian Zietz.
The Prime SP O’Neill started Tuesday in Sao Paulo and is expected to be extended until next weekend at Playa Maresias. (Crhoy)
