Border Coyote Arrested in Liberia

    The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The police managed to arrest a known coyote at the main entrance of the Sacred Heart neighborhood in Liberia, Guanacaste, while officers were conducting a roadblock.

    According to the police chief, Alexander Farrier, the subject is named Rodríguez Vargas, and in accordance with the judicial authorities has been arrested for the same offense in the past.

    Farrier also reported that the suspect ignored officers and attempted to flee his truck, but was arrested a few meters away.

    Vargas carried three Nicaraguan nationals, who had an irregular immigration status.

    If found guilty, Vargas could be sentenced to eight years in prison.
