The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – If you’ve always wondered how you could be a hero and save lives, donating blood  tomorrow is your chance to start.

The chlorite Picado Clinic in Cinco Esquinas, Tibás, will hold blood drive on Friday.

Kathia Estrada, a member of the Committee on Occupational Health of the Clinic, said this is the third year of the campaign and they want to exceed the 80 donors who came last year.

She further explained that the blood that is collected will be sent to different hospitals.

Remember that with half a liter of blood you can save up to three adult lives and even more children. The blood that is donated will replenish your body in less than two days.

If you want to come, remember that if you have tattoos or piercings that are less old than a year, you can not donate. A hypertensive person can donate blood as long as he/she maintains a stable treatment. Also a diabetic who only uses oral hypoglycemics such as metformin.

However, if consumed liquor 48 hours before the donation, you can not do it, nor if you have taken effervescent antacid treatments, if you have hepatitis B or C. Nevertheless a person is allowed to donate if he/she is sick of hepatitis A.

And, if you have taken antibiotics in the last month, you should wait as well.

The activity will be held from eight to 11 am.
