The Costa Rica News (TCRN) –Staff of the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC) will visit 13,400 homes located throughout Costa Rica to start the National Household Survey (ENAHO) that seeks to obtain statistical information on the various economic and socio-economic indicators.
This survey, conducted in July of each year, aims to provide statistics to the formulation and monitoring of public policies on issues relating to the welfare of individuals and households in the country.
Specifically, this project provides regular, systematic and timely statistics related to the formation of household income, distribution, poverty, basic characteristics of housing, education, social security and employment information.
Moreover, the survey work inquires about victimization and the frequency with which people have been victims of home crimes such as theft, attempted theft or violence that occurred in the last twelve months. The last time this module was included was in 2010.
