    The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – Here are some interesting facts about the transfer of power today, where Laura Chinchilla delivers the Presidency of the Republic to Luis Guillermo Solis.

    1 – The National Stadium gates opened at 8:00am

    2 – The formal ceremony will begin at 10:00am

    3 – The event cost a total of 150 million colones.

    4 – This is the 47th transfer in the history of Costa Rica.

    5 – The ceremony will be spread out over 90 minutes.

    6 – Around 80 international delegations came from the 145 who were invited.

    7 – The Committee on Transfer of Powers gave 17,000 tickets to the public.

    8 – The President of the Republic is the first to reach that position as representative of the Citizen Action Party.

    9 – Opposite the main stage will be 3,000 children.

    10 – Cultural events of today will last 8 minutes.

    11 – Luis Guillermo Solís is the father of six children, four girls and two boys.

    12 – President Solís is 56 years old.

    13 – Luis Guillermo Solis is a university professor, political scientist and historian by profession.

    14 – Mercedes, his wife, is Spanish by birth and has been responsible for much of the coordination of the transfer.

    15 – Laura Chinchilla will enter the National Stadium at 10:50am in the company of her husband, José María Rico.

    16 – Luis Guillermo Solís will deliver his first speech as President of the Republic to be 12:05 this afternoon.
