Tico Artist, Federico Herrero Shows at Prestigious London Gallery

Five pieces by Costa Rican artist Federico Herrero will be exhibited in an art show at the Saatchi Gallery in London, England. The exhibition will start on March 11 and run until September 19, 2015.

The show has a Latin America and Africa theme. Herrero was chosen for his detailed work in walls, fabric, flooring and even buses.

The young artist is most recognized for his works Pan de Azúcar, Trópicos Tristes y Paisaje con Pirámides, which were acquired by the Guggenheim museum.

Saatchi Art Gallery was founded in 1985 and aims to be a channel for artistic works created outside of England.

The European gallery’s website stressed that the Tico artist is considered one of the most important figures in contemporary Latin American art. The work is influenced by national politics, culture and nature of Costa Rica, where he lives and works.

The painter also founded a gallery in San José called Des Pacio where he presents his work with other artists.
