United Airlines Cancelling Routes to Costa Rica

The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The Civil Aviation Technical Council (CETAC) received a request from United Airlines for cancellation of 7 tours and suspension of 1, including some that operated by Continental Airlines. The information comes from a publication made in the Official Gazette, by the company representative.

According to the document, the definitive cancellation of the routes would be San Jose – Guatemala-Houston and vice versa, San Jose – Managua-Houston and vice versa, San Jose, Panama – Houston and vice versa, and routes operated by Continental Airlines, Inc., San Jose, Miami, Washington – Mexico – San Jose, Chicago, Mexico – San Jose.

Additionally, the airline requests suspension of the route, San Jose-Guatemala – Los Angeles, for a period of six months, and the cancellation of codeshare operations between companies with Alitalia Continental Airlines and Northwest, which would become effective pending approval from Council.
