The money was on its way to Costa Rica for unknown reasons.
Among those arrested Alatorre Raquel Correa, considered the leader of the group, and also Cecilio Lopez Gutierrez, who appears to have municipal police in the Mexican city of Durango, according to the researchers.
According to Mexican media, mentioned by Juarez, Alatorre, who say his real name is Raquel Juana Alvarado Torres, and bought the 17 detained nine vans on behalf of Televisa, not just the six that were confiscated in Nicaragua.
The head of the Attorney Generalโs Office (PGR, Attorney) Mexico, Marisela Morales, said in late September that neither the 18 people arrested in Nicaragua or in vehicles traveling with money and traces of drugs โhave nothing to do with the company (Televisa) โ.
Morales admitted that there was โa plot of the very people who are arrestedโ, alleged members of organized crime, and found to be put โon behalf of the company Televisa these trucks.โ
Grupo Televisa has denied linking vehicles or arrested with the company, both in Mexico and Nicaragua.
