Costa Rica News – The president of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, will have an official visit to Costa Rica on 19 and 20 February to discuss bilateral issues and a meeting with their American counterparts, said an official source.

Costa Rican Minister of Communication, Francisco Chacon, told reporters that Peña Nieto arrive in San Jose on February 19 to meet with Costa Rica president, Laura Chinchilla, and discuss bilateral issues.

A day later arrive in Costa Rica’s other regional leaders for a meeting of the Central American Integration System (SICA), which involved the Mexican president.

Costa Rica occupies this semester president pro tempore of SICA, it received last December from the hands of Nicaragua, which is why the SICA summits will be held in this country.

Central America and Mexico have a close relationship, both politically and commercially, and in recent years the two sides have decided to work together more on issues such as security and combating drug trafficking.
