The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The National Roads Authority (Conavi) will withdraw service to the suspension bridge located on the Pejibaye River in the Turrialba area to protect the bailey-like structure that settled in the area in late 2011 and currently serves as a passage to locals.

Cristian Vargas, Conavi Construction Manager, explained that the removal of the old structure is necessary.

Locals continue to use the two-lane 90 meters long bridge, however, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT) installed a new bridge in the area to replace the old owne which can support the passage of vehicles weighing up to 40 tons. (Crhoy)
