Looking for a Great Vacation? Manuel Antonio was Chosen as the Sixth Best Beach in the Americas by Tripadvisor

The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – Manuel Antonio was selected as the sixth best beach in the Americas and 17th worldwide by the travel site, TripAdvisor.

The recognition is based on travelers’ ratings from the places they visited during 2014.

The president of the Chamber of Tourism Manuel Antonio, Boris Marchegiani, said the awards reflects the whole-hearted efforts of local organizations to transform the surrounding national park into a nice place for tourists.

Some of the improvements made in collaboration with private and public entities included strategically organizing street vendors in fixed positions and clearing the roads near Manuel Antonio.

Marchegiani acknowledged the work done by the National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC) to maintain the inner beauty of the national park and create communication between local tourism operators.

He also said the recognition will encourage more tourists to come to the Central Pacific and the rest of the country.

Manuel Antonio is located in the canton of Quepos, about 157 kilometers from San Josรฉ. It was declared a national park on November 15, 1972.

For the second year in a row, Baia do Sancho was selected as the best beach by Tripadvisor, which is located on the Brazilian island of Fernando de Noronha.

Other popularย oceanfront destinations included Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos, Rabbit Beach in Italy, and Paradise Beach in Cuba, among others.
