    JetBlue Announces New Route Between Boston and Liberia

    The Costa Rica News (TCRN) โ€“ U.S. airline company, JetBlue, announced it will expand its operations in Costa Rica with a new route between Boston, MA and Liberia.

    The new route will begin on November 1, as announced by the Minister of Tourism, Wilhelm von Breymann and Foreign Affairs Minister, Manuel Gonzรกlez, who met with company representatives.

    The United States is the main source of tourists to Costa Rica. In the first half of the year, North America had the largest number of international arrivals recorded by all ports, with 712,458 or 80% coming from the States.

    Also, American tourists entering the country by air in 2013 remained on average 10.4 nights and during their stay they had an average expenditure of $1,231.

    “We believe in the success of this new operation, which in addition to strengthening our business relationship with this prestigious airline, will give firm and tangible steps to ensure the competitiveness of the destination and its sustainability over time, as well as attracting more tourists to Costa Rica,” stressed the Minister of Tourism.

    The new arrangement came as a result of the meetings of President Solis in the States where he participated in the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York.
