    “Jaco Ha Ha 2012” JULY COMEDY FESTIVAL in JACO BEACH at TEATRO JACO

    Costa Rica Jaco [TCRN] – Jaco Beach, Costa Rica, June 11, 2012 TEATRO JACO announces July Comedy Festival “ Jaco Ha Ha 2012” , July 5th through July 28th. JACO Ha Ha 2012 will showcase productions from Texas, New York City and San Jose. Also Comedy Workshops will be offered in both in English and Spanish.

    Following an internationally acclaimed inaugural season Teatro Jaco has put Jaco Beach on the map as the cultural destination in Costa Rica. Daren Lee Cole, Artistic Director has been fielding inquiries from artists around the world who would like to bring their productions to Teatro Jaco.

    First up and direct from a seriously funny run at the SoHo Playhouse in New York, FAYE LANE’S BEAUTY SHOP STORIES July 5- 9 at 8pm. Faye Lane’s entertaining stories bring us Rhonda Faye Gunnels, who grew up in her mama’s beauty shop in Texas: Casa Vale Beauty Salon. You can’t help but love and laugh with the fat little girl in a glittered-up Burger King crown, practicing her beauty queen acceptance speech and dreaming of being a star of the stage! Performed in English.

    The World Famous UPRIGHT CITIZEN’S BRIGADE, the greatest producer of comedic talent in America today brings the very best of their comedians from NYC and LA directly to Teatro Jaco July 12- 16. It’s your chance to see stars of today and tomorrow live on stage from the theatre that brought you comedy greats like Horatio Sanz, Amy Poehler, Rob Cordry, Ed Helms, MTV’s Human Giant, the Daily Show’s Rob Riggle and many many more. Performed in English.

    MALDITO MURPHY , by Sergio Masis plays at TEATRO JACO July20- 22 at 8pm Maldito Murphy ponders why the toast always falls on the side of butter? Why the phone rings just when you go in to the shower? Is there something in the universe that is always plotting against you? Or is it“ Murphy’s Law” ? Who is Murphy? Performed in Spanish.

    And, returning by popular demand following a SOLD OUT run at TEATRO JACO in April: QUE ZAMBROTE ! July 26- 28 at 8pm. This uproariously funny sitcom entertains the audience with scenes of everyday Costa Rican life with sidesplitting family humor. The 14 characters are dynamically interpreted by only 2 actors: Rita fields, well known Costa Rican actress, and Ricardo Segura, artistic young graduate of Conservatorio Castella . Performed in Spanish.

    COMEDY WORKSHOPS will be led by Upright Citizens Brigade 7/10 & 7/11, in English. 6PM to 8PM at Teatro Jaco cost: $20 per session or $30 for both. The cast members of Que Zambrote will conduct Spanish language comedy workshops 7/18 & 7/19 cost: 5,000 colones per session or 7,500 colones for both.

    TEATRO JACO is located on Ave. Pastor Diaz in Jaco Beach, Costa Rica only 90 minutes from San Jose, under the Artistic Direction of Darren Lee Cole, a NYC and Jaco based producer and co-owner of the SoHo Playhouse with over 30 years of producing experience.
