The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The sixteenth edition of the BTM Buyers Mission reached $60 million worth of export negotiations after more than 300 Costa Rican exporters submitted their products to nearly 200 buyers from 32 countries.
Details from the Foreign Trade Office of Costa Rica (Procomer) revealed that the agricultural sector was responsible for 53% of generated export intentions, followed by the food industry with 31%, while specialized industries covered 16%.
The main products traded were: bananas, wood, frozen meat, pineapple, flavored milk, organic pineapple, passion fruit pulp, bottle blowing machines, pineapple concentrate, shrink packaging, and watermelon
Greece, Turkey, China, China, United States, Puerto Rico, Spain, France, Honduras, Canada, Germany, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic and Peru were the most demanded destinations for Costa Rican products.
“Once again we exceeded the business intentions of the previous year thanks to the preparation and talent of each of the exporters that participated and negotiated face-to-face with international buyers, highlighting the quality of their products,” said Alvaro Piedra, manager of trade promotion for Promoter.
Stone added that the challenge now is to work hard so that every negotiation is realized.
