Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula Celebrates the Ninth Festival of the Spheres

The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – For the ninth consecutive year, the community of Osa in Puntarenas, will enjoy the Festival of the Spheres which will be held from March 26 to 30 and promises cultural and artistic performances as well as educational and sports activities.

According to the National Museum of Costa Rica, the institution that organizes the festival, the official opening is on Friday, March 28th at 3:00 pm, but activities are scheduled from Wednesday, March 26.

The festival will have activities for the whole family such as dance, theater, films, puppets, clowns, bands, concerts, craft fairs, books and food.

The music selection includes groups such as Bullseye, Fortuna Republic, Escape and Concert Band of San José, as well as local bands. Two groups of indigenous communities will share their dances and traditions.

“The festival has matured over the last nine years, has affected the people in the community, and can be considered as one of the most important activities of the area for uniting people with their heritage,” said María Elena Masís, coordinator of the festival.

For lovers of history, lectures, workshops and visits to archaeological sites, as well as a round table discussion, will be given.
