Costa Rican Bottled Water Company Receives International Recognition for Quality and Environmental Sustainability

The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The Costa Rican water bottling company, Agua Costa Rica, received three international awards in the categories of quality of mineral water, innovative packaging and corporate responsibility for the environment.

The awards were presented in January during the 12th edition of the International Water Tasting Termatalia in Rio Hondo, Argentina.

The company achieved international recognition, beating companies from countries like Portugal, France, Spain and Brazil.

The manager of Agua Costa Rica, Ennio Rodríguez, said the prize rewards the efforts of the bottler to develop an environmentally friendly product and quality.

The Costa Rican company which was founded last year, recycles plastic bottles as roof tiles. The objective is to build houses and bus stops with these materials.

Rodriguez explained that to roof a 42 square meter house they need 5,000 bottles, or 110 bottles per square meter. (Amelia Rueda)
