Costa Rica To Host Central American Cruise Summit

For The First Time

The activity will be held at the National Congress and Convention Center in 2019.

2019 will be the year in which Costa Rica will become for the first time the headquarters of the cruise conference “Central America Cruise Summit”, which promotes seminars to train the tourism industry. This will be held at the National Center of Congresses and Conventions.

Mauricio Ventura, Tourism Minister commented that the objective is to activate this industry, position the country in the world as an ideal destination for cruise tourism and increase the country’s presence in events like this.
Ventura, said that hosting this important event represents a clear indication of the work that has been done in repositioning Costa Rica as a profitable destination for the cruise industry. “We have attended the last two editions of Sea trade, the main event of cruises in the world and in these fairs, our role has been protagonist, achieving a close relationship with the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA), the most important cruise organization in the world and Meeting with the representatives of the most consolidated and influential cruise lines in the world … “he said.

This activity is held every two years and brings together more than 200 people including representatives of tour operators, shipping agents, tourism ministries, service providers and executives of the 19 cruise lines affiliated to the FCCA, which operate more than 100 ships In Florida, the Caribbean and Latin America. In addition, the activity promotes seminars to train the tourism industry.
