Indian BPO services provider WNS Holdings (NYSE: WNS) plans to focus its efforts in Latin America this year on growing a world class delivery center in Costa Rica, tapping into the available local talent, Steve Reynolds, North America managing director told BNamericas.
WNS’s recently launched operations in Costa Rica – which marked the company’s entry into Latin America – serve as a nearshore center for global clients with North American business, providing services in English and Spanish, which include finance and accounting, customer service and research and analytics.
Reynolds said that WNS selected Costa Rica considering the availability of local talent and the language skills, adding the firm will evaluate other investments in the region as clients’ needs evolve.
WNS focuses on global companies, primarily based in the US, Europe and Asia Pacific. It provides services that include supply chain management, logistics and sales, marketing and customer care.
In November the company signed its first contract that covers Latin America, with food products distributor Chiquita Brands International. Under this multi-year agreement, WNS will provide services to Chiquita’s business entities in North America, Europe and Latin America.
The agreement includes general accounting, fixed assets, data standards, credit management, billing, collections, dispute management, cash application, accounts payable and travel & expense services.
